difference between an two stroke and four stroke petrol engine?

What's the difference between an two stroke and four stroke petrol engine?

Diesel Engine:
Diesel use air compression to ignite. diesel uses higher compression when is compressing the air. this is to create a higher temperature in side the cylinder to ignite the fuel.

Patrol Engine:
Four stroke patrol engines use spark plug to ignite fuel, a mixture of fuel and air.

Two Stroke:What makes two stroke engines much different from the rest of the engines is that, they dont have  valves, they fire once every revolution which gives them more power boost. it also uses a mixture of fuel and air. the piston compresses the fuel and air in the combustion chamber while lets new fuel and air into the crankcase ready for the next cycle.

Questions of the week

1.What is the firing order of a four stroke engine?
1, 3, 4, 2

2.What is the difference between a S.I and C.I engine?
Spark plug ignition, Compression ignition

3.Is there any difference between a S.I and C.I piston if so what?
Yes. The Spark plug ignition is timed to start combustion at the diesel moment.this is before the piston reaches the top dead centre.
The compression ignition uses the highest compression to improve ignition and improve efficiency is well.

4.What year was the diesel engine invented and by whom?
The diesel engine was invented by Dr. Rudolf Diesel in the year 1897.

5.What is the purpose of the oil jet on the connectng rod, and where does it spray?

6.On the connecting rod where is the big end and little end?
The big end is where the caps go and the little end is where the con-rod gets attached to  move the piston.

7.What is the purpose of the thrush washers on the crankshaft?
The thrush washers are there to prevent the engine from too much movement, should only be a little amount of movement so that there is no damage cause when the engine is moving.

8.On a diesel engine what's the difference between direct injection and a indirect injection type?
Direct injection where fuel is not directly injected into the combustion chamber.
Indirect injection is where fuel is being delivered into a chamber off the combustion chamber

9.Explan the term valve timing?
The valve timing is when the valves opens and close, which is controlled by the camshaft.

10.Why do we have valve clearance?
The valve clearance is there to make sure the valve closes completely.

What is the purpose of a core plug?

What is end float and run out on a crankshaft, hows is measured?

What is the purpose of a glow plug on a diesel engine?
Unlike patrol engines who uses spark plug to induce combustion. The purpose of the glow plug is to start a diesel engine.
